How do I obtain my DSU username and password?

New Faculty and Staff accounts will be requested by your immediate supervisor.  Supervisors can find the form by clicking on this link below. Please fill out the "New Computer Account Request" form and send it to helpdesk@deltastate.edu as an email attachment.

Once the form is completed by the supervisor, the supervisor will click the submit to OIT button at the bottom of the form (All required fields must be completed prior to being allowed to submit the form).  After the form is submitted, OIT will create the account within 24 hours and the department will be notified once the account is ready to be picked up.   If you have any questions, please contact our office at 662-846-4444.

Accessing DSU IT Systems

Once your account is created, all of our systems are conveniently located in the MyDSU Portal which can be accessed by clicking on the MyDSU link on any page or by visiting https://www.deltastate.edu/portal

Email

Once you arrive on campus and are assigned a computer, your access will automatically be setup for access to your email.  If you would like to access your email from off campus, you can do so by visiting https://www.deltastate.edu/portal

Delta State University’s Microsoft Office 365 email account provides users with many new features from Microsoft Office, including 50 Gigabytes of email storage, more security, 1 terabyte of cloud storage, and the ability to download the entire Microsoft Office Suite on up to 5 of your personal devices for free.

Software

You will be provided with a Delta State computer which will already have access to all of the software and features that we provide.  Here is a short list of the software that will be preinstalled:

  • Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access and Power BI(by request)
  • IBM SPSS
  • Browsers: Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Zoom

Faculty and Staff have the option to install email on their mobile device if they choose.  For step-by-step instructions please click here.

DSU Online Services

DSU Online Services is a convenient way to take care of business online for Faculty and Staff

Within DSU Online Services:

  • Faculty members can advise students, post grades, view advisees transcripts, and more.
  • Employees can view their employee information such as earnings, tax information, days earned, etc.

Instructional Technology

The Office of Instructional Technology is here to support you and your students' learning technology needs. The Instructional Technology team maintains a one-stop shop of faculty resources that is housed in Canvas. These resources can be found after logging into Canvas within the Help menu at the Faculty Resources link. New faculty will find required training, workshop recordings, newsletters, and a host of other resources. Be sure to look for announcements in Canvas as we often post workshop details as well as academic reminders for other DSU offices.
